This is located on the interior passenger side below the dash by the kick panel. I took three pictures, one from far away so you can get oriented, then two closer up of the issue. The issue is there is a taped pair of wires which appear to be running to the plug. Someone on my truck cut one of the wires and ran a different wire into the plug and it runs under the dash on the floorboard up to a harnes plug on the drivers side behind the dash. Trying to figure out what this is and why someone would have done this. Thanks! I can take more photos if they are needed. In the second pic I have the connector unplugged, the third it is plugged in halfway so you can see where it goes.

The part it plugs into is a blower motor for the AC and heat. Its possible the wire went bad that runs it, so instead of fixing it right they just tapped it in somewhere else to give it power.

Plugs into the blower motor resistor...it controls all your fan speeds BUT high, thats controlled by a relay.

Eddie is right, wire probably shorted somewhere so they just ran a different wire instead of fixing the old one. Its funny because mine was done the same exact way with the same color wire and ive seen another truck on here with the same thing...

Awesome thanks for the fast response! As I mentioned it runs directly to a harness that is plugged in on the left side of the steering column if you are driving the car. If you are laying on the drivers floor board looking up under the steering column it is on your right side. This is the position I was in while taking these two photos below. Does anyone know what the name of this plug/harness group is?

That is called a C106 connector, your main power wires from relays on the power distribution panel, run to the C106 connector, from there they branch off into separate wires going to the fuse panel to operate things like AC blowers, air bags, power windows and seats

Excellent, I wonder if a similar connection/harness issue is what is causing my drivers window/door switch panel to stay illuminated all the time. It never powers down.
