Default Bilstein E5100 Adjustment

Hey fellas, new to the forum! I am looking into ordering a complete set of the Bilstein E5100 series shocks & struts. And am getting the struts with the height adjustment feature. My stock strut is blown out and been wanting to level the front end. So this seemed like a good solution. I seen a few threads where guys are saying that they set the height on the strut at the top notch which is 2.8" and then add a 3/4 block in the rear. However, I looked at the instructions on the Bilstein website for these and it looks like they can only be adjusted to a max of 2.0". I am not too familiar with these and am not sure why the discrepency. Can I get some input with this? Looking at part number 24-186988 for the strut and my truck is 06 Ram Quad Cab 1500 4x4. May have a follow up question, but for now, thanks.

Welcome to the site. I have the 5100's but I have mine set at stock ride height. I'm sure others will chime in soon.

I run Bilestine 5100's set to 2.8 but I also have a 6/5 lift on the truck. If you raised the front and ran rear blocks but it would give you a rake look again. So if you wanted to level the truck the bilestine 5100's set to max in the front and stock hight in the rear would be my route to suggest.

I would try bilstine.com. They have an online catolog where you select the shock you want and input your vehicle info. If they do not show anything I would guess they do not exist.

Your truck has a torsion bar front suspension so height adjustable shocks are not available. You can get 2" of lift by turning up the torsion adjuster bolts.

As fas as the 06 Ram, different years have different height settings. You have the correct part number for your truck.
The adjustable heights are stock, 0.67", 1.34" and 2"

Most of the guys lifting there rears are 4th gen models that have coil springs in the rear and use a .75" coil spacer

Thanks guys for your input. Going to order the shocks, set them at the max height and see how she looks.
