I have been thinking about doing a lift on my truck, 3", should I do blocks or just go ahead and get a 3" lift? Also, anything I should know or watch out for?
2003 4X4 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab

Thanks

do you mean only get the rear blocks and not lift the front?

nothing wrong with a small lift block like 3" imo

So "over level" the front and 3" blocks in the back?

Well your going to need spacers or new springs for the front and a block for the rear leaf spring
going 3"in the front and 3" in the rear will obviously leave you with the factory rake.
If your not off roading your truck a 3" block in the rear shouldnt cause any problems but I wouldnt go any higher then that

Thanks
3" blocks in the rear will be fine, but you will still need to address the front. You will need a lift kit for the front. You can't put blocks up front.
If you want to go with more than leveling out the front you will need a lift kit with the front components, rear blocks or add-a-leaf, and new shocks.

He has torsion bars up front so he's limited to cranking the torsion bars about 2" to level it out, add blocks to the rear + cranked torsions if the factory rake is desired (wont look good imo) or buying a complete lift kit.

Shoot you got me, I usually catch every one else on that one too haha
So yeah your limited to cranking or replacing keys (I personally dont think keys are worth anything)
I would not recomend going any higher then 2.5" in the front without a true lift kit with a torsion bar suspension

Pretty pricey but check into the "high angle" cvs... they alow you to go higher on the front without dropping the diff. I dunno if they make them for an 03 or not.

I think they are by Kore or Carli
