I got sick of not being able to see where I was going when backing up at night, so I got some universal fog lights and mounted em up.

The wiring was pretty intense. Used a double relay so the lights only come on when in reverse AND the parking/fogs/or headlights are on. No sense in the reverse lights coming on during the day, right? Heres the double relay

Nice. Those lights will come in real handy when loading stuff at night. Used to have a set on my old ram and uses them a lot.

Those look great! If you got some led bulbs it would be even brighter.

because the truck is lifted, and the tailights are tinted, the light output from the factory reverse lights are poor at best. LED lights are too expensive. I've got like $30 into this setup. They are h3 halogen bulbs btw.

btw, they are completely hidden unless you crawl under the truck. in the one picture, they are reflecting off the exhaust tips. I'm still working on aiming them for the best light output.

well, the droid sucks for taking pics/video at night. the really do light it up enough. not the brightest lights in the world, but the price was right and its good enough.

Those are great. And plenty bright. You really don't need hids or any of that nonsense just for backing up.

I mounted them up as far as I could so they'd have the least amount of movement/flex (virtually none at the shackle). Also, to prevent vibration, there is a rubber "no slip" pad between the light and the leaf.

Those leafs are NOT easy to drill through -- much much tougher than the frame.

There is something inheritly wrong with using the leaf spring for a light mount. It may be a frame thing I'm thinking of. It certainly is inventive. Good job af I hope it lasts. sincerely.
