Im kinda tired of these cup holders, ive got the full front bench seat so the cup holder flips down in the middle. This is the only thing I hate on my truck, its like dodge didn't give it to much thought.
It constantly rattles, bounces, vibrates and drives me nuts because it has no true support. Has anyone modded theirs or beefed it up? I always find myself not using it and folding it up so I dont have to listen to it.

I had the same issue with mine. I ended up putting a custom console in that took the cupholders place, but would still be interested in responses too cuz my 05 does it also.

That's odd. Mine seems fine, of course it almost always has a travel cup of coffee in it...maybe that weighs it down. Or maybe you are driving over much rougher roads than I am.

The one in the 08 was way worse than the 05, the 05's not actually too bad. The 08's was crazy though. I wonder if something gets loose in it or something like that. Not sure.

my '08 cupholder shakes like crazy. I think its the '06-'08 design. They're much less firm than the '02-'05 cupholders. Maybe could try stuffing something around the hinges so it doesn't move as easily? Or find a way to weigh it down without being noticed.

Get a Gen IV. They lock down and don't rattle.
On my '98 I epoxied the hinge in the open position.
