I am Trying to install the thermostat, but have hit a problem. The coolant has been drained, but the clamp to take off the radiator hose is upside down. In short. I can't remove the clamp. Would I be able to just take off the thermostat housing with the tube connected?

Can't get the bottom bolt. Anybody have a suggestion on how to turn the clamp around?

My problem is getting the old hose off. Even if I did get a new hose how would the old one come off?

Cut it, take the housing off and then work on the clamp. Have a pair of dukes. That might cut the clamp

DO NOT use a hammer on that thing. If the bottom bolt isnt loose, you wont be able to turn the housing without destroying it. If you bend it at all, it wont seal again.

I usually have no issues getting to it with the 10mm socket, 3" extension, then universal swivel, then 6" extension, then ratchet.

It's literally underneath the hose. With the dip stick and steering pump fluid cap it can't be reached at all.

Hmm if you can't get the housing off after the hose is cut your gonna have to work on the clamp. Have a dremel wit a small cut off wheel?

We ended up getting the bottom one unscrewed somehow. Changed the thermostat out. Now to put it all back in.

Any idea what kind of coolant it takes? Need just a little extra. It's a pink red.

Sorry for being late to the party... which 180* stat did you go with? Far as the coolent swing by and get some of the Mopar conc coolent and then cut it, you will prob be a half a gallon low.
