I need some help if possable, I purchased a 2002 Ram 1500 with a 4.7 back in December and I'm only getting 8 mpg. the truck is showing no codes I did a turn up with, plugs, airfilter, oil change and I also changed both 02 sensors, map sensor, throttle body position sensor, Air idle control sensor, new muffler, new thermostat, and I have checked for vacuum leaks to the best of my abality. I have spoke with a lot of local people that have the same truck with the same size engine all are averaging 16 mpg mixed driving.
The only thing I see that is not stock on the truck is the tires, it calls of 245/70/17 and it has 275/70/17 on it. As for the running it runs good, no skips that I can fill or here. Thanks

That difference in tire size can make a big difference in what distance is reported. You should get the speedo calibrated. Chances are you're getting at least 10-12

I'm getting 12mpg in mine with 325/50r20 toyo tires. Was getting 14 with the stock size tires. I'm also still running the factory gears 3.82 I believe. I also recalibrated my speedo it was way off and throwing off the trucks fuel milage computer. I would bet your mileage is better than you think. I don't get 8 with mine pulling my CJ even with my 325 tires.
