Hey all,

What's your recommendation for gear lube and limited slip additive when installing new gears and LSD for 500 mile break in?

Thanks.

I used conventional oil and 7oz of the LSD friction additive from autozone. And then switched to synthetic afterwards.

Makes sense to use something cheap since it's only in there for 500 miles. I'd still use synthetic myself, but definitely syn after the 500.

Checking page 2 Auburn recommends conventional.

They go in next week...

Man i wonder how much of a difference they will be vs the current 4.88's. I still want the hole-shot experience w/ my street DR's lol.

Auburn recommends dyno always but I personally would not put dyno in my truck no matter where it goes.

Also with the Auburn, it is better to use the Motorcraft (Ford) Friction Modifier than the Bottle of Auburn stuff that comes with the Unit. This is also mentioned in the Hand-out.
