question is, do I install it on Friday, or wait and get an e-cutout and do it all together

If you are getting the cutout, then hold off so that you dont have to pay the labor twice. I would have them weld the cutout about a foot behind the y-pipe.

That's the sensible thing to do, however, I am unsure of the legality of them in PA when it comes to inspection time, may be a deciding factor on whether I put a cutout on or not.

I just used 3" butt end band clamps from Jegs so if a problem does arise it's easy to remove.

Shop around. I had my cutout and muffler welded onto a whole new 3' pipe from the Y to the resonator for 130

If they dont look under the truck you will be fine i used to live in jersey and they were super **** about inspections so not sure about PA

My Brother is a Ford Mechanic, so, I will see if he can give me a favorable inspection. Took my Challenger to the Dodge dealership last week to have an airbag light issue sorted and they reckon my ram wont pass the exhaust noise test as it is now, lol.
