Hey guys/gals,

New 2017 Ram 1500 owner and excited about it! Not thrilled about the uconnect 3.0 radio that comes with it, so I am looking at replacing it. I found the following unit, which seems to have a factory build-in look to it:

Seicane-s09286

Now, it says it is compatible with 2013-15 Ram trucks, does the 2017 have anything different that would prohibit this from working? Seems like they use the same units? Anything in the car's computer?

Does anybody have any better suggestions than this one - for about the same $500?

Thanks in advance!

Dutch

Installation/integration is one issue, but the other issue is the Android HU. It would be best to visit XDA Developers forums to research the brands.

My truck is a 3G, but I have a Joying HU. It's been in my truck over a year and I've got a thread in the 3G Audio & Electronics forum detailing my experiences. Android HUs are notoriously finicky and its as important to buy a brand for support, as any of these Chinese HU vendors will give you the run-around or give nonsensical replies to your questions. Personally, I would contact Farjad with JoyingUSA@gmail dot com. He is an authorized reseller and can advise you.

My HU has been running great, once the kinks were worked out and I got a better grasp of the OS/features. If you have any more questions, do ask. I don't see where you're from-given your name, are you in the Netherlands? If so, isn't terrestrial radio there DAB? If so, make sure the radio has that if it's important. IDK if any of these Chinese Android HUs support DAB natively, but I do know that Joyings have been made to pick up DAB. On Joying blog or XDA there is a post about how to do it.
