I still own the last set. Boston Pro 6.43x 3 way componets. Huge crossovers! Been rocking them in my s10 for years. I have a spare set of the 6.5 woofers also.

I had those Pros way back in the day...
Those speakers have more attack, and SNAP than any speaker i have heard.
Very fun!

There's threads on DIYMA that get into what drivers are rebranded.
The whole Arc Black line is rebranded SB Acoustics and there are many more if you research. If you're going to run active Madisound and Parts Express will save you a ton of money....you just have to figure out what's what.

Some things like Focal are built in house and not rebranded so don't think you're gonna find a $5500 Utopia Be set for 500 bucks....but you can find some extremely good deals.

SB 6" mid....run about 70 bucks each.

Arc Black 6" mid....run about 530 a pair.

That happens allot. Scan, Vifa, Peerless build speakers for many many brands! Not sure about nowadays...but at one time. I personally feel that Scan drivers are probably some of the best on the planet. Period! The illuminator tweeters for example are probably the best tweeters for the money. I've had the Utopia Tbe tweeters and would take the Scans every time and twice on Sunday!

The Scans are bad ass...the TBe's just worked better in my install. I was unbeaten all last season using them.

I had my Utopia's in a Ford F-150 and not bad, but the Scans where just better at playing lower. Not knocking them by no means, great tweeters, I just wouldn't pay the price for those today.

What did you run with the Utopia Tweeters? Isn't it funny how well Big T. did with those cheap PPI speakers. Surprising, yet it wasn't.

I ran the whole Utopia Be 3 way set so playing them low wasn't an issue. Mids and tweets on the dash with the midbass in the doors. The midbass from that set is so good I won one comp after I forgot to turn my sub back on. I was doing some tweaking just before judging and it slipped my mind....put like 7 points on the closest person in my class that day. lol

Nice. I ran the old Utopia set years ago. Can't remember if it was the TN51 or 52 tweeter, I think it was the 52. That was the first set of speakers that I ran and fell absolutely in love with it. I had them in a Toyota 4Runner with W7's in the back. Now I see the set come on eBay every now in then for crazy money.
