I just won a RBZ radio off of ebay. The seller says it fits a 09-12 Ram 1500. I have a 2012 Ram 1500. But it also says it came out of a Town & Country. I thought the T&C radios were not compatible with rams??

Here is the auction: MyGig CD DVD Radio High RBZ Wrangler Caravan Ram 1500 3500 Jeep Dodge Chrysler | eBay

Can someone who knows the answer please take a look and let me know if this RBZ is compatible with my 2012 Ram?

Thanks ahead of time.

I bought the same radio years ago and it fit and works fine.
Mine also came out of a T&C, I guess they wreck a lot of those things. :)

I bought mine specifically to upgrade to the backup camera which is a "must have" feature when hooking up our boat.
To get the backup camera to operate, it had to be flashed at a dealer.

HOWEVER...
Since it came out of a T&C it will have the Chrysler logo at boot up and no one at any dealer I tried was able to change the logo.

It does not bother me anymore since it only lasts a few seconds and I have custom pics which default as the wallpaper.

If you are able to get the logo to change, please post how you did it.

Sure no problem.

I just came across this 2010 Ram RER Nav radio for only $100 more. But everywhere I look has different fitment guides. For example, infotainment.com has the 09-11 Ram radios separate from the 2012. But a ton of other sites and eBay list all 09-12 Ram radios work in all 09-12 rams.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/282578296545

This **** is so damn confusing.

Would this 2010 Ram RER fit in my 2012 with a RES with uconnect and sirius?

Yes, the RER will fit, but as i mentioned in your other post, to go an RER or RHR, you'll need the mirror bypass cable

Ok. I saw an adapter on eBay that had 2 plugs that merged it into one. I believe it was for upgrading and plugging sirius and uconnect into one plug... not sure i forget.

Is there a kit for sale online for this bypass?

I only know the RBZ works because that is what I bought.
The RER has navigation and I didn't want that as I prefer using a stand along Garmin.

The Uconnect website Uconnect® | Find the right Uconnect® for your Ram Vehicle shows radios that were available for our 2012's
and only list:

730N/RHR
430N/RHB
430/RBZ
130S/RES
130/RES
- I would stick with one of these

My truck came with the 130S/RES (which I still have in a box somewhere) and had the hands free option installed. (Voice commands)

The 430/RBZ was a simple install, fit perfectly, all the plugs fit and all features worked right out of the box.

As I stated, I also added the Ram backup camera and that had to be flashed at a dealer to enable it.

Like I said in the other thread, you need a high speed canbus radio. From what I can see in the 2 links for the radios they should both work. You need to google the part numbers to be sure. Above is a kit for what you need to make the second radio work.

Since you have already purchased the RBZ, I would just install that.
No adapters needed.

But that's just me, I'm a cheapskate. :)

For the RER radio - there are three fakra connectors on the back, AM/FM=white. GPS=blue, Sirius=yellow. All you would need is the GPS antenna, easily available on eBay, you should already have the other two.

Yes, you can get the jumper cable here, or on eBay also, but I haven't seen many cheaper than on this site. The Mopar part number is 82211666

It kinda amazes me the prices they still get for those older radios......

I thought about going 3rd party at the time, but I really wanted OEM for some reason.

UPDATE: Got RBZ Antitheft unlock code. Only cost $14, Took Less Than 24hrs!!

So I recently bought an RBZ radio off of ebay. I got it last week but just got my truck back today and installed it. The seller swore it never asked him for an unlock code when he installed it, which I think is total ********. Anyways, he has so far been answering my messages and said the radio is not originally from his truck, it's from another vehicle and he bought it for his 11 Ram and used it in there for awhile.

So 1234, 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 0000 and 4321 don't work.

So now I'm looking for any websites or company's that sell unlock codes for Chrysler - Mitsubishi brand radios. More specifically, the 09-12 Ram RBZ radio.

Most sites that do Chrysler Radio unlock codes dont do the Chrysler/Mitsubishi T00 radio codes, I don't know why, I'm guessing they're harder to get.

So im trying to find someone or somewhere to buy an unlock code for a radio with the serial number that starts with T00.

To top it off, I don't have the VIN # from the donor vehicle (original vehicle radio is from) and most sites that you can buy unlock codes from ask for the original VIN # when submitting the purchase form.

I've already told the dude if I can't get an unlock code within 72 hours (3 days) I'm opening a case with eBay for stolen goods, because that's what I think this is. He asked that i please don't do that, and just request a return and he will refund me.

Unless he comes up with the code I would send it back and then report him. Otherwise your problem will likely be someone else's problem.

Pretty much everybody does the T00 codes, but for some reason NavRepair explicitly excludes RBZ. If your dealer won't do it for you, try JustAnswer as there's plenty of dealership techs who hang out there.

I called them earlier today and I am waiting for a call back lol. Guess I won't be using them. I bought an unlock service specifically for the T00 models, off eBay for $13. The guy is based in the UK and said he is a little backed Up With code requests and that he would have my code for me by Thursday, but he just emailed back a minute ago and he said I could have it by tomorrow as a spot opened up. So I'm going to wait and see what happens with that route before I do anything else.

Thanks everyone for the PM's and suggestions.

So I found a guy on eBay who can find the original antitheft lock codes for the Chrysler-Mitsubishi/Serial# T00/RBZ radios for only $14usd. No other site really offers to unlock the Chrysler/Mitsubishi radios, more specifically, the RBZ radio is difficult to find anyone who can get you the unlock code, this guys service was amazing. Less then 24hrs from purchase, I had my code.

Here is the eBay auction page:
