How do I arm the factory alarm?

On a 2012 dodge ram. Apparently theres some sort of alarm in the vehicle and you haave toclock the door with the fob before closing the door. i dont notice anything. i can reach my hand in and unlock it and nothing happens.

any help would be great.

sounds like you have keyless entry only. What does your window sticker say?

See on the left column Mine says security alarm

yeah i didnt think mine had one but the guy at dodge said it did. i dont have my window sticker anymore though, nicely built truck you have by the way!

easy way to see if you have a factory alarm....do these easy steps...

1. roll driver window all the way down.
2. remove key from ignition.
3. close driver door and use remote key to lock truck.
4. wait approx 5 minutes...(allows the alarm to set properly)
5. reach in and open the door from the inside handle, if the alarm goes of(horn starts to blow) you have a factory alarm.

so easy, if my ex-wife can do it, you can do it!!!
