New basic system installed, have wierd sound like a rattle

My rockford p1 sub sounds rattly at even moderate gain levels. I discovered the baffle board is not sealed. I guess i will find out if that is the issue. If i lay the box on its back with the driver facing up it sounds better

Got some! Been Chasing this rattle and I think I have gotten rid of it.

Converter needed for factory head unit:



My rca and remote amp trigger wire come down the radio center stack and straight back on the center hump, then over to the OEM carpet hole:



Pulling wire through firewall:



My ground and power run down the side and I put a hole in the carpet that is covered by the tray:



Lightweight amp sticks with velcro:

Finally back together! Just in time for the May 21st rapture! I mean, "Invisible Judgement day" Haha. I cut out these tabs from the tray:






The rattle I heard was a combination of the driver being off center in the hole and the shelf liner under the box making noise when the right frequency was played. All better now!

Looks good! My box is in the same spot, just thought I'd let ya know that if you might wanna take out that tray, you might be hittin your sub on the tray when it hits, and in the long term it can damage it... Mine was hittin it

I thought of it hitting before I started and managed to find a box that worked. The Rockford trim ring also sticks out further than the drivers linear reach. Now how long before I want more? Who knows lol. My amp being velcro'd was on purpose so I can upgrade easy and fast later on!
