Mmmkay ladies and gents..I pretty much have a sound system picked out (headunit, sub and amp)..I just need a mounting bracket and a wire harness. I'm not sure exactly what type of bracket or harness I would need. Is there a specific kind of bracket and harness to get, or are they pretty much universal? Here is the headunit:

i think for the 02-05 dash that crutchfield has is the nicest looking install bracket. When I did mine I got a bracket and the wiring harness, and antenna adapter for under $20 shipped from ebay. It looked ok, but I got what I paid for.

You can go to crutchfields site and it will show you what wiring harness you need and the installation bracket. You can get what you need at best buy, but you will pay a lot. I think it was at least $60

BTW...that is a very clean looking deck you picked out.

Sweet looking deck!

I used the mounting kit and harness that came free with my headunit from Sonic Electronix:
Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers

I've been happy with it and all the wires matched up perfectly. The mounting kit came with the black rectangle that filled in around the deck... my JVC came with a silver bezel, but I liked the black rectangle better.

I would suggest installer.com for your harness possibly, when doing my audio I found that they are very cheap compared to others. And they even have a store front in houston which was very convenient for me.

I'm still skeptical on which harness to get, because I don't want to get one that doesn't match. I know there are a lot of different harnesses, I would hate to be ready to install everything and find out my harness doesn't fit.

I meant the stock infinity stereo sometimes you will need a special bypass for the stock infinity that cost 120.00. I'll cross reference the numbers when I get home. There was a guy on CL that had all the installation stuff nib for cheap. If you get bored before I get home just search tulsa auto parts dodge ram.

I screwed up, I don't have the Metra install kit. Mike's mention of Scosche rung a bell and some other details about when I installed my HU. I went out in the garage and looked at the box that has all my car audio crap in and found the bags that mounting kit and wire harness and antenna adapter came in.

Scosche CR1277B for the HU mounting kit
Scosche CR02B for the wiring harness

While I was installing the head unit, I had to make a trip into town because Dodge uses this tiny antenna plug... so I bought an antenna adapter at Car Toys:

Metra Chrysler Antenna Adapter 40-CR10

Here's a better pic of mine:

If you haven't already bought your head unit, Sonic Electronix will usually throw all that stuff in for free when you buy from them. I've bought a bunch of stuff from that company and have been happy. They were real easy to work with when I had to return a set of speakers too. The speakers I got from them came with the wire adapters too.

That pioneer deck is gonna look great. At the time I got mine, there wasn't hardly any nice ones that were all black like that and had a knob for volume.

I'll prolly just stick with the 8200, it's 120 bucks cheaper anyway so if i have to buy the other three things seperately its only 20 bucks, not too big of a deal, as long as it looks good and does what i need it to do im fine haha
