Well, it now seems like I need some new speakers. My factory ones just arent cutting it. I know I need some 6X9s for the front and 6.5s for the rear.

I have a budget for around $150 for both if at all possible.

I am currently looking at:
Polk Audio DB691 6x9 3-ways
Rockford Fosgate Prime R1693 6x9 3-ways

Rockford Fosgate R152 PRIME 6.5s

Any experience? Or any other options ya'll have found for good quality. I am not a sound system guy whatsoever, so all I want to do is put the best speakers in my truck for my budget. I am going to keep my factory head unit as of the moment. I mostly listen to country music, and love cranking it up on the good stuff. I like turning the bass up a notch as well.

Any advice/options/opinions are much appreciated

Depends on what you want to spend but I can attest that the JL Audio C5-653 sound superb!!! Even the C2-690 sound pretty good. For amps I lean towards the Rokford fosgate amps. They are not as good as the JL Audio amps but they are way better than most.

I know quite a bit about systems feel free to ask anything.

Thanks guys! Any specific Polk speakers that will match up well with the fronts for the rear?

I totally didn't see the 150.00 part. My bad.

Make sure you have a HPF or crossover on them.

Infinity Reference speakers are a good bang for the buck. Not expensive at all.

High Pass Filter

They keep the bass that the speakers are not meant to respond to out of the signal.

Put it to you this way. If you were to take your stock speakers put a crosover on them and give them a couple more watts they will sound better than the polk speakers running off the stock radio.

These are good ones(Polk Audio DXi 5250) but they do require an adapter plate. However if you do not plan on putting in a sub then stick with the 6x9 so you can get a little low end.

So the stock speakers are better then the polk speakers?

Thats not what I said. Let me copy and paste "Put it to you this way. If you were to take your stock speakers put a crosover on them and give them a couple more watts they will sound better than the polk speakers running off the stock radio."

Polk speaker on stock radio vs stock speakers with and amp and crossover.

Crappier speakers would sound better with a better signal than good speakers on a crappy signal. Get it?

Well, just ordered me a set of Polk DB691s using what was left of my Paypal account. I am going to save the rear speakers for another day since (for now) they still work.

Thanks for the help

Must have a crappy amp then. Which JL 10 did you buy?

I know my one 10 hits freeking good

Oh , its not the amp .. Kicker makes a great amp this is my second 400.1 (thats a class D one channel amp)

The sub was one notch better than the one you showed me .

I am going to say its the box or I am not use to the sound of a single cab anymore .. either way .... going back to kicker
