Are there any reasons why synthetic could not be used in the 5.7 hemi?

Don't believe so. That's all that I'll run in mine.

I use it in my Magnum RT with a Mobil-1 Filter and I plan to go 4-6 Months (No more Warranty-Yes!). I only drive her 6-7 Months a year. Just started using it at 30K Miles before I parked it. Some will argue and recommend that the Motor should have some Miles on it first before switching from Conventional. But there must be plenty of fourth gens out there that have run it since new like Kevin without any reported problems.

My Ram is too old for that kind of a blood transfusion so I stick with Castrol High Mileage and a Mopar Filter.

The 07 I sold this year got nothing but Mobil1 Synthetic for the 58k miles I owned it and the 2011 gets nothing but Mobil1 Synthetic. Never had a problem

No there is no reason not to. IMO all vehicles can benefit from Synthetic and by not running it you are missing out.

Chrysler recommends 8000k on an oil change using Dyno oil imagine what you can do with synthetic and a really good filter. I do 10k oil changes now and I am not afraid.

I heard that once you go synthetic, you can't go back...I mean that literally as I heard that from a mechanic. Is that true? If so, why couldn't you switch back to conventional again?

I've never heard you couldn't switch back to conventional. Just that if you switch to synthetic on older motors, it can cause small leaks where there weren't before

I changed my oil when I drove the truck home with 17miles on the clock.

Nothing but Amsoil and Wixx filters on all our vehicles.
