My dodge won't shift out of 1st and 2nd gear so I have to manually shift of of them but once its past 1st and 2nd it shifts through the other gears fine. When the truck is cold it will shift out of low end, but once it warms up the rpms go way up and stays stuck in that gear. I'm at a loss. I had a mechanic test the computer and it wasn't showing any error codes and my check engine light isn't on. Anybody have an idea what could be wrong? I'm new to the Ramforum and any advice would be appreciated.

If you can manually shift it, you have a bad shift solenoid or governor sensor/solenoid

Thank you! Is it located at the bottom of the transmission inside the tranny pan?

That is correct. When you purchase a new governor solenoid, make sure you get the Borg Warner ones.
