I'm not sure since I'm not familiar with lifting 2wd trucks so I'll let the 2wd guys chime in. Welcome to RF by the way!

I'm just now in the process of lifting my 2wd 2500 and if you put spacers on the coils you have to get 2wd specific spacers. The bad thing is that it's almost impossible to find 2wd spacers and when you do find them they are either less than 2" or $100 more than the 4wd ones. I'm sure the 1500 is the same way, on the 4x4 the spacers get bolted in vs. 2wd where they just sit on the spring without bolts.

CST specializes in 2WD lift kits...google them and see what you can find. But by far the best way to lift it is with lift spindles up front and blocks in the rear.

I dont see anything for 2nd gens on cst. It's sad us 2wd people are being neglected :( if you search for a 4x4 lift kit you can find them in every flavor.

All the lifts I have found have been around 1000$. What all involves a spindle lift?

I just got my 1500 2wd lifted. Pro Comp makes a 6 inch kit for a reasonable price. Im very happy with it.

Removing the caliper, rotor/ hub assembly...disconnect the tie rods from the stock knuckle. Remove the stock knuckle...this would also be a good time to replace the bearings and upper and lower ball joints and brake pads and worn tie rods, youre there anyway. Bolt new knuckle back onto truck, reassemble everything, put your tire on...youre done.

When you use lift or lowering knuckles, you arent changing the geometry of the stock suspension, so it is the best way to level or lift the vehicle.
