Get a 2.5 in leveling kit, would I need new front shocks or would the ones I have still work?

You will need longer shocks or shock relocate brackets or every bump you will feel the shock bottom out .

speaking generally, you will need longer shocks our you will lose your down travel (space before the shocks are fully extended) but you may be okay with 2.5". with 2" spacers on my jeep wrangler I ran stock shocks without problems

Still working out the deal ....

And yes you can still run the level , it might be annoying tho when you hit bumps .
I put a level on my old 99 ram and it rode like **** on the OEM shocks . Same with my 04 and my 07 before the lifts

I mean the shocks aren't OEM, theyre craptastic Rancho's (never buying them again) but I'm not sure on the shock length or travel?!?

Again , I am not saying you cant put the level on ... you can . But I would recommend later on replacing the shocks with ones that are for 2-3" lift .

On my old 06 I had... I ran a 2.5" level with stock shocks. No problems.

I am running Bilstein 5100s that are for 2-3" of lift with my 2.5" leveling kit. Since my truck sits higher than a regular ram (stiffer springs) I went with those, but by your guys statements I should have gotten the ones for 4"?

That's what they are saying I do believe luke. I am running stock size shocks on my truck and don't have any issues. I know it's not good on the shocks but they aren't oem shocks anyway. If they blow out that will just give me an excuse for some billsteins. lol
