I have a 1997 dodge ram 2WD. I am fixing to put a 5" suspension lift on it (in the near future hopefully) and hoping to run 35's. Below are pics of how it looks now.

Welcome to RF! I think a 5" and 35"s will look great!

Be prepared to regear with that much tire though.
Unless you do a lot of highway, I'd get 4.88s.

Might as well throw in a locker too. :-D

Haha well I was thinkin 4.10.. I have 32's on it now and the stock 3.55 gear will still do one hell of a burnout.. and I still get 16 mpg.

Yes...but all that extra unsprung weight will take about 4x the torque to turn. Prepare to learn something about basic physics. :birgits_tiredcoffee

I wonder if the OP has a limited slip diff.

Okiespaniel speaks the truth. It's not a linear relationship between larger tires / needing moar gear. 35s can get really gosh darned heavy, QUICKLY.

You don't think I could get away with using 4.10 gears?

Sure ya can. I'm just saying it's not a lot. I ran 4.56s with 34s and really wanted more, and that was with my 360, I'd guess you just have a 318.

That being said, I live at over 7000' elevation which really kills the power too.

Haha I live in NC. I'll see how much power she has when that time comes and go from there I guess
