So I want to paint the stock rims on my 99 Ram. but really have no idea how to go about it. never painted over chrome before. any help greatly appreciated.

Also, what do you guys think would look better I got in a accident and I need to replace my grill and front bumper but don't know what to get.

1. black grille with chrome bumper(black trimmings)
2. black grille with black bumper

my rear bumper is chrome but i kind of want to make all the chrome black and put billet black fender flares.

here's my truck.

I would HIGHLY recommend you NOT paint over chrome. If you want the black look, use something like Plasti-Dip which is easily peeled off and redone if needed.

Paint does NOT stick to chrome.

I would repaint the grey plastic on the front bumper to blacks. For the rims you can use plasti dip or powder coat. Could do everything except the center cap, or do it all. Those rims are hard to get something that looks decent, with painting them would make them more of basic steel wheel.

thanks guys.. I am just gonna leave the rims like that.. and go with the chrome grill and bumper and paint the trimming black. I think that will be best.
