I was in the local advance the other day and since im in there so much, i know a few of the guys that work there lol anyway, i was talkin to the one guy and we got on the subject of tires and whatnot. He told me to check out treadwright.com, they have tires for trucks for low prices, etc etc. so i just went on their site. they sell 315-70-17s for 159 a pop. not bad eh? but theyre retreads. my dad says theyre not worth it, but i cant exactly afford brand new sneakers for my rammer at the moment. but what do you guys think about retreads? any experiences?

I had a thread here under my old screen name where an actual rep from Tread Wright came in and posted up. I'll have to see if I can find it. He provided some good info on how far recaps have come over the years.

A couple people in my 4x4 club are running them and love them. My only concern with the truck would be whether or not they could hold up with towing. They hold up to rocks, so they obviously are well made (at least in their case).

Just figured I'd throw it out there. No personal experience.

Nothing wrong with them at all . They have cam along way .

Only bad thing is you can see the the side wall where old caucus meets the new thread .. kinda ****** looking IMO . Sold a few locally to some farm kids but they didnt care they were cheap .

First off, I know there are people out there that have personal reasons for not running retreads and I respect that

Here is another retread thread to check out: http://www.ramforum.com/f56/retreads-10387/index2.html

That brin said and moving past the actual retread discusion, Treadwright is a fantastic company!
You may have to wait a bit to actually get your tires but their customer service is awesome!
My brother ran a set of their 33" all-terrain style tires on his Cherokee. He requested matchin BFG AT casings and they came through. When looking at the sidewall there is a little bit of scrubbing where the new rubber is but it's hardly noticeable. The guy who mounted my brothers didn't even realize they were retreads till my brother asked about how much weight they took to balance and the guy told him and asked why

I have another friend who is running their mud terrains on his cummins dually. He's had some problems with they way try are wearing and Treadwright replaced a few he was having problems with

I'll try to dig up some pictures
