well...the rockstars I got off craigs list, the front two wheels, the grease cap sticks out to far for the hubs to fit over correctly, so the guys at discount took my grease caps off, and told me to cut them down to where they would fit.

Have been planning to do this, been slightly busy lately though, and want to do it about the same time I do my level.

However....tonight, my dad was looking at my truck (knows the caps dont fit currently), and said why dont you just put some wheel spacers on so the hub caps will fit over the grease cap?

So he got me thinking. What do yall think? cut down the grease cap, or get spacers?

How do the spacers mount or get used? never looked into it much and never gave them much thought.

Have a brand to recommend? I see them all over the price range from like 5-150 dollars, so just wanna know what is good and whats crap.

Right now I have slicks, and my tires are pretty much flush with the fenders, so spacers they might stick out a little bit, and look funny with slicks, but thats not really a concern for me as they will be getting swapped out for some meatier tires anyhow.

can you just hammer the caps down some?

I really dont trust spacers, but I have seen tons of them on jeeps and vws.
def get hubcentric.

the only brand I have seen recommended overwhelmingly on a certain jeep forum is spidertrax. they are about $100 for a pair

If you need an inch to clear... dont do it
You will just have to trim the wheel studs instead of the grease cap if you use spacers
Not to mention the headache (coming from someone who is currently running spacers lol)

I hope you haven't whacked the pizz out of 'em yet. You shouldn't have to.

What I believe you need is a set of earlty chevy hub covers. You can even buy them chrome. They are not as tall and are rounded rather than square edged so they should allow your rims to slide on.
