Is it possible that with alot of the pluggin in and unplugging the socket can somehow "wear out"? I bought a car charger for my phone last night and seems like it only works when I wiggle it around in the plug in...

It is very possible . Or a loose connection on the back of the outlet

Think I could pick one up from radio shack a parts store or would I have to get one from the dealer?

If you don't get one at the pick and pull, a radio shack would work, just wire it up.

Lick all the metal contacts on the charger then plug it in. It will work like new

make sure your 12V power outlet contact (center bottom) is clean. also, try another 12 plugin and see if it works fine. could be the accessory that you're plugging in that is the culprit.

Sorry, all I hear is 'Blah, blah, blah'.. ;)

You can basically replace the socket with almost any socket, as they're fairly universal. That doesn't mean they're ALL the same, mind you..

I'm not sure how our Truck sockets are constructed, but in others there are side pieces that can be pryed out along the walls of the recepticle. Doing this and also looking at the male end of what you are plugging in and prying out the side connectors if they are made in such a way to allow prying can help. Either/both will give you a tighter connection. The recepticles hardly ever go bad unless you burn them up with overload/short. However they do get loose over time and use.
