That sounds about right. When you do it if you wouldn't mind making a writeup so we can add it to the diy section.

Well the 3rd gens have a blue film in them that turns the yellow light from the halogen bulbs green If you get white, youll probably end up with light blue.

What if I put blue film on the odom. and the gear indicator, then put white on the rest of the gauges. Think it would work?

Unless you take the thing apart and remove the blue film you cant do white.

I dunno. I dont have the balls to rip it open like that. Getting a replacement for the 3rd gens are tricky and expensive.

I have looked into this mod before. If memory serves me correctly there is a blue film under the cluster so you would have to pull the cluster and the internal board to remove the film. It can be done but is a lot nor of a pain. All colors are possible in the right intensity. If you had a bright enough LED you could get white. But getting the right color will take some trial and error. So far I have seen red and blue. Most common is blue because of the film. I have seen one red one and they guy took the entire cluster apart to get rid of the film. You can put the okla blue on the odo to make blue I think. Gearshift would be the same as the bulbs.

I got bored and actually got to that point, but didnt pull the film. It's actually not that bad, so I might do that again so I can get a real white. For the odometer, I think I'll just have to put the film on the back of the cluster and it should work. Same for gear shift

well sweet maybe you could add in the film pulling part for those of us that are leary about it. I kinda like my green. So I doubt that I will be doing this mod anytime soon. lol

Sure, and like I said, it's actually not all that bad. Took me like 10 minutes and I had it all ripped apart lol so I guess all I have to do is just get ahold of the film and rip it off?
