Ok I am new to this site and I've been having an issue with my truck for a while. It has a 318 in it. Was an auto and converted to 5 speed. And its a 4x4. So the issue I am having is it randomly dies. The only time it happens is when you put in reverse and feather the throttle or just give it a little throttle to move and push the clutch back in to stop. Same way in 1st gear too. It will die as soon as you push the clutch back in after giving it throttle. Sometimes it stalls when you do that, sometimes it does not . But that's the only way it will stall. And sometimes it wont stall, it will just go down to like 2 or 300 rpm then pick back up. Its very strange. And I have never seen anything like it. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, idle air control, speed sensor on rear differential, crank sensor, and tried cleaning battery terminals (which did help a little) I cannot figure this out. I was thinking of trying a cam sensor or ignition coil. Has anyone else had this problem? It also stalled when it was an auto too in reverse or if you dropped into 1st. Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is a good truck, I just cant figure this problem out.

It normally does it after its warmed up. And if I go to back in a parking space, I can stop, put it in reverse, give it throttle, back in the space and shove the clutch in once I am ready to stop and it will just shut off

Auto to manual swap, did you flash the pcm to match the manual tranny? There are auto pcm's and manual pcm's they will have different parameters from each other.

It has not been flashed. The guy that did the swap said he had to trick the computer into thinking its still an auto. Basically running a wire that leads to nothing. He did it to his truck but his is also diesel. So idk if that makes a difference. I would like to try to flash it

Who knows what was done. For the flash that will be a dealer only thing, maybe the SCT can do it as well you would have to email Hemifever and ask.
