I've got a 2000 ram 1500 4wd. 5.9 liter.I've replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor button. It runs perfect until it warms up, then starts missing badly , but only for a short period of time, 10, maybe 15 seconds. Then it runs fine again until the next time I drive it. Also getting a loud ticking noise that only tics when the trucks in park and when the motors warm also. Related?? I've had 2 mechanics look it over with no luck. One mentioned its possibly the computer. I'm really not ready to spend that money if not for sure.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok,scan showed P1391. Camshaft or crankshaft sensor intermittent. Going to replace camshaft sensor. Does this sound right or could scanner be fooled by something else???

Welcome to RF.

Why would you not trust the scanner?
You could disconnect the battery for a little bit. Then reconnect and start. Run it for a few minutes then scan again.

Enjoy the forum and good luck

Thanks for the response. The only reason I was questioning the scanner is because I've had someone tell me the computer could be bad. Just can't really afford to keep changing parts until I get the right one.
Just stumbled on this site, very informative, I hope to be able to provide some input to it occasionally.
