Well since last Saturday my T/C and Trans has been whining/screaming and loosing random gears, finally Thrusday on the way to work it finally failed. Couldn't even pull up a slight incline once it got warm. Thankfully I have been talking to a local friend of a friend that happens to be the Tranny Tech at the local Dodge dealer and he will rebuild it for me. But my question is what supplier of rebuild kits, shift kits, general parts would you go with? I have been reading and searching through PATC, any recommendations on them or anyone else?

Alright thanks bmcnabb! I will check them out and compare prices and all. Unless I get a call from this guy before this weekend it looks like I may need to tear into this tranny myself though so a repair manual may be in order haha.

Well, I finally got the transmission rebuilt and installed in the truck about 2 weeks ago. The guy that rebuilt it for me had some problems with his knee and had to take a few days off but still got it done in a reasonable amount of time. We used a transmission parts supplier in Alabama but the name of What Ever It Takes Transmission in Florence, AL. The trans ended up needing everything pretty much and the whole bill including his labor was $685. So far so good on the rebuild, except now instead of my trans slipping on wet hills when taking off from a stop I just spin my bald tires so tires are in order next along with a complete suspension re-do.

I hope it is that cheap for you as well. My next trans wont be that cheap though, already buying the tools I need to do it myself.

A friend visited Patc company and was pretty satisfied with their services and technical support. Recently I also had to get the transmission replaced in my Ford pickup and I searched all over the place for a quality used transmission system. After a great deal of searching online as well as offline I finally managed to find what I was looking for at hiperfomer who gave me a good deal with a year’s warranty as well!.

Good deal Kerrylee, I will remember that. I think when I get the tools together I will give PATC a call for all/most of the parts then throw in a manual shift valve body and shifter. That is going to be after I build the engine I have laying in the garage that is haha.
