I have a 99 ram 1500 , I have a bad heater core that leaks in the floor, the other day it threw a code about 1/2 circuit o2 sensor or something and started smoking out of one pipe. Now my truck over heats , the radiator is cold and the over flow tank just starts pouring out the top and spraying everywhere. Someone told me that happens when heater core is completely shot then another told me I had a blown head gasket. Any help?
Thanks

White smoke out the tail pipe is a head gasket, it would throw a code as the coolant will ruin the o2 sensor. But to be safe I'd replace the t-stat first, I honestly don't think it will fix the smoke out the tail pipe but I have been wrong before =)

If you can, do a compression test on all the cylinders. For the most part white smoke has to do with a blown head gasket. Water pump, heater core, radiator, and thermostat are all related parts in this matter. Check for leaks, and flush even if replacing the head gasket. When you get into head gasket replacement, its a great time to consider a new timing chain as well, and getting a gasket kit so other gaskets can be replaced... Good luck!
