so my a/c clutch bearing is pretty bad and i was wondering would it be easier to buy the bearing and replace it or just get a whole new a/c compressor? and if the bearing is the easier and better route how hard of a task is it to replace?

Well I can tell you the compressor is over 300 bucks. Might fine a used one in a salvage yard.

As for the current compressor does it have any internal issues? (Black Death)?

Just want to cover all your bases for you so you don't put a new clutch on and have a bad bearing that pump black death through the system.

You can get a reman'd driveworks compressor with the clutch (Part No: DW57553 ) at Advance for $223. If you buy online, you can use the code VISA and it will knock off $50 of the total before tax and give you free UPS ground shipping, making the compressor $173.99 + tax! Then, take your old compressor into any Advance store and they will refund $10 to you for the core charge...making it $163.99 + tax

Did you vacuum the AC system after you installed the compressor?

Yea! Make sure you vacuum it down for at least 15 minutes. This boils the moisture back out of the system...

The AC system is sealed. And with that there can be 0 zero moisture in the system. Moisture cannot exist in a negative vacuum. So you vac the system to rid it of moisture and test for leaks. I say take it to a jiffy lube or somewhere that will do AC service and have them do it.

^^^ Yup...have them totally exacuate the system, then vacuum it and recharge. Might be able to get a pretty good deal this time of year on it too, since most shops are running A/C specials since Summer is right around the corner.
