today i picked up a fan out of a Thunderbird, the reason i grabbed it was cause i saw that it had a 3.8. it looks like the right fan but i had some questions about it. when i cut the wires i did it as far back as i could reach, it has the blue red and ground but further back the red split into 2 wires. do i need the split or should i cut it before it? question 2 is do i need the stock ram shroud or should i just use the one on the fan? last question is what controller should i use, i only found one 2 speed controller and it was on ebay.

that is possible. I would wire the switch to have the high as primary.

i need to find out the amperage of the fan and see what controller i can use. if i dont do that ive also been thinkin bout running a three position toggle switch with low/off/high, that way i have control of the speed.

SPAL is a controller I used when I installed my Mark VII 2 spd fan in my old rock crawler.
