I have a 1998 1500 Ram Sport 5.9L, Occasionally in the mountains while 4X4ing I get a brief (4-5 sec) but complete oil pressure loss ( according to stock gauge ). This has never happened any other time. And yes the oil is filled to the appropriate level ...LOL
