I just bought a 1994 dodge ram with a v10 mag engine . It has two hundred and thirty thousand mile on it It was a one owner and well maintained. I was wondering how many more miles i might get out of this engine. thank you for your time and if i posted this in the wrong category i am sorry.

Those V10s were awesome, even more awesome now that diesel is worth more than premium fuel in some areas...
No idea on expected life span, but I hope it treats you well, and keep in mind, if its not a melted heap in the crusher, almost anything can be rebuilt..

230k is nothing on a lumbering beast like the 8L.
I wouldn't be surprised if you saw 500k on it.

The nice thing is that engine was capable of A LOT more and it was tuned to much less, so it should last MANY miles. It also depends on what kind of miles they are. All city is MUCH different than highway.
Hi guys thanks for the info. Btw when we back up in it , it does not want to move for a few seconds . Idk if that is a transmision thing or not sometimes it does it when we pull forawd but not as often as backing up. Also this truck pulls 5 th wheels i know it pulled mine with no issue i am not a michanic or anything (sorry about spelling spell check didnt pick that up) but i am hoping the backing up issue was set to put it under the 5 th wheel nice and easy like . This truck rocks and with the type of engine it has b@!!$. I am loving it and its a much smother ride than are other truck . I hope evryone has a good weekend and again thanks for your guys time.

Sounds like a transmission issue to me. Whether a Tq converter or the trans itself. Dodge wasn't known to have great transmissions back in the '90s.
