So I've been reading about those of you who have swapped to led powered headlights. What kits are you running, and what all do I need to go this route?

The LED headlights are a kit from SuperBrightLEDs.com. It's a LED version of a 9004 bulb.

Only thing you need is a set of housings that will accept a 9004 bulb. If you have projectors you'll either need to change or get a kit for the corresponding bulb (H11 I think). Directly plug and play don't need anything extra. Super easy just look at it and you'll be able to figure it out in a minute at the most.

Projectors and LEDs are a no-no.
LEDS don't play nice with them and besides that, most of the projectors out there are H11, which no one has high-power LEDs for them.
So, 9004 only right now.

Just a drop in. A painful drop-in with regards to the driver's side, but drop-in no less.

Will these cause bulb out errors? I replaced my tail lights, back up lights and plate lights with pilot canbus LEDs and they still caused bulb out errors? I really need the headlight upgrade though this has the worst stock headlights of any vehicle i have ever owned.

Thanks for the input and everything guys. Most helpful Forum I've been a part of. What housings are you guys running? I'm not a big fan of these stock housings but hear they're the best compared to the aftermarket selection.

I recommend stock or stock replacement housings because my aftermarket ones were too clear for em.

Your problem resides with the fact you bought Pilot LEDs. Go with LEDs from SuperBrightLeds.
If anything you can also ask them what all you need as you might need resistors too.

I'm running stockers. Honestly, the couple guys I've seen with Euro housings and LEDs the spread pattern hasn't been optimal. lol

They won't unless you replaced your stock connectors with cheap replacements (like me). I had problems getting the connectors to stay connected so i used zip ties and problem solved.

This is what the guy I deal with has.

Phillips Luxeon LED sets at 9000 lumens(4500 per bulb)
H1, H3, H4, H7, H8, H10, H11, H13, H16, 5202, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, 880, 881, D2S

Too bad no 5012.

9000lm out of a single emitter is a bit far fetched, IMO. And I've been poking around with LEDs for a while now. :word:
