Alright here we go again. I was driving down the highway and the truck starting running real rough and was losing power. Pulled to the side of the road and before I got to a full stop the truck died. I gave it a couple of minutes, started it up and it idled fine and revved fine. Put it into gear and it ran rough and died. Repeated this process about 10 times and then tried to give it gas right away. Was able to limp it home with it running like crap about 2 miles back to the driveway. As soon as I pulled up and wasn't riding the brake while giving it gas it died. Been looking around on forums and a lot of people are pointing towards the torque converter. I'm thinking of going ahead and replacing it, but if the torque converter failed does that mean the transmission is toast and/or need rebuilding? Thanks in advance.

You should be good with just a torque converter and fluid change.

Thanks, now I just need to figure out which torque converter it is. According to Advance Auto Parts online, there are 8 "exact fits" that are different, lol.
