won't stay in OD

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500, 4.9L cummins 4x4. When using passing rear under a load, going up a steep grade, the transmission will go in and out of passing gear. It can not be held in passing gear. The trans. is not in overdrive while under a load or towing. Any idea's?

Sorry it took so long for a reply, maybe the tranny is starting to go out slowly?
