Sounds like a case of needing head studs not bolts . After you fix your head dont put the bolts back in use studs . This will help in the future ,so you dont blow your head again as it seems the truck has been pushed to its limits a time or two.

Just my thought ...

Second pulling the head and putting in studs. I dont see a tuner in your sig but I would guess you prob have one. The stock bolts can only handle a certain amount of PSI then the head will lift and pop the gasket. How does your fluids look? Nothing mixing?

Now before do head studs... Does the smoke clear up after engine warms up a bit? Is the truck a bit difficult to start? Could be leaking injector(s).

Or it could be a grid heater issue if the temps are getting cold.

No tuner all it has is an intake. Only smokes a little on start up. It was difficult to start one time but starts easy now.. I was thinkin either bad injectors or valve cover gasket

Watch the hard starting carefully. This is typically a sign of a leaking injector. So during cranking the CP3 can't build enough pressure to get the injecotrs to pop because of 1 or more injecotrs are leaking. Hence the white smoke after fire up. (Possible).

So it might be a good idea to either hit a Dodge dealer and a leak down test done. Or... Find a shop that can test CR injectors and pull your out and have them tested.

As for the valve cover gasket... I don't think that is going to be a cause...

My truck some times takes a little bit longer to start but it just blows black smoke more than usual when it starts

With all CR engine hard starting is something to be concerned about. I would check the basics like fuel filter, fuel pressure, air leak (loss of prime) and lift pump, etc... If all this checks out OK then I would the next step and look into the injectors by removing them and having them tested.

Only time a 24V truck see hard start is when the low pressure fuel system has a air leak and looses prime. But now CR engine is a different animal vs us with 24V 2nd Gen's
