I was gonna say, I've heard it's not uncommon for the 5.9 to see like 17/18 city and low 20's highway..

**** dude that's bottom of the barrel

my truck, which is a 12 valve 5.9(just know it's better, don't ask why:D) gets 20 or so combined...a strait freeway run at 65 would prolly get me upper 20's

damnnn, glad to hear it's better mileage than I thought :D Do they make the 5.9 in a 24v and also, what is the difference between a 12 valve and 24 valve..other than double the valves ;)

24 valves were/are made from 98.5(early 98's had 12 valves and are called "holy grail" trucks) to current production motors...w/o gettin too technical the three biggest differences in the different motors is that on the 24 valves they have electronic injection, 2x the valves(obviously:D) and the injectors are at the center of the head instead of angled to the pass. side slightly

I see 17/18 city and low 20's highway. As long as I keep my foot out of the turbo. That's hard to do it's just so much fun smoking hemi's

lol i think its funny how us hemi owners act all big and bad against 4.7 saying stuff like "we have more power with better mpgs!!". Thus, God created the CTD -- giving the hemi owners a taste of their own medicine.

sticker? :naughty:

As for mileage...

W/o Smarty or w/ it on level 3 ... I hang in the 16's around town unloaded
w/smarty on 3 and towing I hang around the 15's on highway

Move the Smarty to 5 and I'll be in the 17's around town unloaded.

Doesn't matter if I'm towing or programmed ... Lie-O-meter is always 2 MPG high.

IF I could keep the boost under 10 lbs I'd do much better ... but that's really hard to do :D

Really? Are we going to actually turn this into a ******* match of this motor vs that motor?

It's all in good fun. CTD guys rub on Hemi boys ... Hemi boys rub on 4.7 ... 4.7's rub on Daks..... we all pick on Ford children. It's how the game is played and we all know it.

I got the snot stomped out of me at a light by a Chevy box van one day too. Does that make them better than CTD's? Nope just the way things worked out that day.

The whole point of having so many freaking vehicle choices is we all get to buy the one WE want and the heavy aftermarket community makes it possible for us to customize them the way WE want.
