This update has been out for a while hasn't it? I've had it installed since July but I believe it was available prior to that as well. I haven't had anything "missing" as a result of the update, so I'm a bit confused.

August-September of 14 I think. My dads radio just hadn't been updated in quite some time and he had been complaining about uconnect not accepting voice commands very well. So I figured an update was in order. So I did it and there was just a few channel logos not populated yet. Like some stated they seem to just get downloaded from Sirius in due time.

It's just the logos for the XM radio stations. After the update about half of them went to the generic XM screen. They are all coming back little by little so no big deal. Everything else works fine and I pretty much have all the logos back now.

Ah I see, I never noticed. I suppose it's normal for Sirius to have to repopulate some things after a fresh install. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm sure they will repopulate.

On a different note, I wish we could get a software update that gave us "theme" capability like some of the 2015 trucks have.

Messed with my dads truck tonight. I left it in the driveway with the key on accessory for about 3 hours or so while I was working in the garage. Low and behold all the logos loaded back up. Yall were right!

So yesterday I received one of CuylerTech's 8.4 upgrade harnesses. The quality is great, it looks and feels like an OEM harness (if they existed). It works perfect and I honestly think it is worth more than what he is asking for them...

Do these 8.4 Radio's have to be programmed at the dealer when we install them? All we need is an unlock code right? There should be nothing to program?

Just the code is needed...I would recommend an update to the latest firmware, a reflash of the current firmware, or at the very least a factory reset of the radio after the unlock code is used.

All did was slap in the radio, unlock it, update it, reset it and go. I've seen some people (not here) say they need to be programmed but I can't see that being necessary at all. It pulls all the info it needs from the BCM as far as options installed etc.

Who would program then and how with what software or hardware would you program it?

Yea, that's why I think its crap. Even Greenleafprimes eBay page says the radio HAS to be programmed by the dealer before it will even work. Which we obviously know is crap.

I had a 1 year subscription on my Ra2, when I installed the Ra4 today it now says not subscribed. Do I just call Sirius?

Yes. The subscription is tied to the radio not the vehicle.
