Nice kit, and great prices. I would go with the 9000XLs, I have 9000s and love them. They are adjustable and on the softest setting are great on the highway, turn a knob and they stiffen up for hauling or improved handling. They have 9 settings, 0-3 are soft (about stock like valving), 4-6 are about the same as the 5000s, and 7-9 are stiff

I would do lift first . Lifting will not down grade the OEM gearing at all . Tires will .

Go lift , at that price you would be nuts not to .

Measure the roof as the truck sits now. Do this on an empty fuel tank with no weight in the bed and nobody inside.

Let's assume from level ground to the highest portion of the roof line it's 70" inches tall.

You need to know your existing tire RADIUS. But let's assume the current tire is 32" in diameter and has a radius of 16" inches.

If you install the Rancho 4" lift play it safe and consider it a 5" inch lift. Then take the new tire radius of a 35" diameter tire... that's 17.5" inches. The new tire will make the truck sit 1.5" inches taller than the 32" diameter tire.

So... Old roof height = 70" inches.

New roof height = 70" + 5" + 1.5" = 76.5" inches tall.

These numbers are guesstimates but the method is real. With a few minutes of your time you should be able to calculate within a 1/2" the roof height after you lift the truck and install larger tires.
