Everything works!!Nwram, so the install at the dealer cost you $275? Did this include the dealer flash?
Did you guys use the existing handle and just drill a hole in it for the camera? If so, is it necessary to remove the handle to install the camera? or can the camera be installed with the handle in place? Thanks
Hello, I have a 2014 Ram 1500 SXT ( I belive it is a Canadian trim level possibly equal to a Express trim level in US.) The Vin # is 1C6RR7KTXES136734 can any one confrim this. It has the uconnect 5.0. Just wondering if anyone how much work is involved to get the backup camera up and running.
Thanks
Question for anyone one who has mounted a camera to the handle. Is there another piece, like maybe a grommet, that goes between the camera and the handle? When I look at a stock camera installation it looks like another piece around the camera. it seems like the lens will stick out too far. Am i missing something? I have the 56038978AF camera. What makes the installation water proof? Thanks.
My dealer is telling me that this won't work in my truck. It's a 2013 express with a uconnect 5 radio. Vin#1c6rr7ft2ds657794 can any one advise. Thank u

It will work with your truck. Look at CASTIRES' posts in this thread.

Jeepguy, I have a 2014 tradesman quad cab with the 5.0 RA2. I am looking to put the backup camera in my truck also. I have the power locking tailgate and my vin is 1C6RR6FT6ES306902 can you tell me what I will need to get and if this will work for me, Thanks in advance.
Just go to Backup Camera Harness and fill in the truck details, you'll get the right harness.
That said, all 2014 trucks are the same, with the exception of the overall truck length. The only trucks that require a different install are the 2013 Express and Tradesman. The 2014 Express and Tradesman share the same harness as the rest of the trim levels.
The dealer will have to flash the computer then correct? Where is a reasonable place to get the camera? Part number maybe.
Am I reading this right. The 2014 Express does not need the special harness then?Just go to Backup Camera Harness and fill in the truck details, you'll get the right harness.
