    V10 to 5.9 Magnum swap?

Thanks for the responses, all. I think we got a little off the spirit of the question - yes, I could rebuild the V10. Yes, I could put a Cummins in it. ****, it gets tempting to throw the VE engine out of my 93 into a 2nd gen! However, as clearly stated, I don't own the V10 truck. I have a...

    V10 to 5.9 Magnum swap?

Thanks for the info. Not overly worried about the OBDII, just want everything to run properly and the gauges to work. Was hoping that dropping the engine and trans in together with the PCM from the 98 would make it more or less plug and play. This truck is in nice shape and a good price, but I...

    V10 to 5.9 Magnum swap?

Has anyone ever put a 5.9 magnum in the place of a V10? Wondering if motor mounts line up or if mounts from 5.9 can be bolted in place of the other mounts, etc. Also if the PCM (if that's the proper term for these) can be swapped in and everything will work. Truck is a 95 2500 and the 5.9 would...

    Steering SHOT

1998 1500 RCSB 4x4 So, as the title says my steering is completely shot. It's loose, off center and doesn't track straight. It's been that way since I bought it almost 2 years ago but got worse. The truck is lifted probably about 2-3" and looks as though taller springs were added with...

    CAD Axle Questions

To be honest, I have a fair amount of experience but not extending to welding/fabrication (although I want to learn) so using axles from a Ram is much better suited to my needs and skill level I think. Plus it'll be easier to find a whole parts truck because I need a body panels as well, and I'm...

Need a part number... Door weatherstrip.

Call your local dealership and tell them exactly what you want, they'll be able to give you the part number. I used to work at a Dodge dealer and our parts guys could find anything within 5 minutes.

This is a spongy brake question.

If the brakes on all 4 are good and there's no air or restrictions in the lines, that mostly leaves under the hood components to check. When you say spongy do you mean the pedal is soft, or you just don't slow down fast enough? Is the pedal really hard?

    CAD Axle Questions

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind about the axles being different after 98. Ford parts seems like it'll be a lot more... cost effective than buying brand new stuff - believe it or not Uncle Sam don't pay that much. I'm sure I'll be able to find whatever info I need when the time comes...

    CAD Axle Questions

My bad Merc, my wording was a little unclear. The 44 is most definitely junk and the 9.25 is probably gonna follow it one of these days, plus who wants to have an 8lug front and 5 rear? I'm planning on swapping in the 60/70 once I move and get settled in, with any luck maybe I can find a 2500...

    CAD Axle Questions

Hey guys, just got a couple questions about the 4x4 engagement system on these trucks. I understand the basic operation of it, I'm more interested in gettting rid of it. I believe the passenger side inner shaft is permanently connected to the diff, how about the driver side? When you're in 4x4...
