Overdrive because I ended up bolting up a procharger. Overdriving the supercharger and I build boost faster and have a lot more fun. Underdrive would be counterproductive while supercharging, but would theoretically free up some HP on an NA motor.
I personally noticed nothing tangible.....however I'm still happy I did it since I knew I had the best harmonic balancer available bolted on.
And yes, the stock balancer was a PIA.....broke my puller getting it off and had to go buy a 3 jaw puller....that wasn't easy either, but it finally...
Do you have emissions controls where you are? If not, longtube headers, cat delete (will need custom tune), small, straight through muffler will be loud and tolerable.....muffler delete would be the loudest obviously....
or if you only want temporary loud, put in an electric cutout just past...
Yes, that advice is what I would give you as well. I went with 4.56 and I'm running a 35" tire. My motor has 8lbs of boost, aftermarket cam, heads done, longtube headers and all the other bolt on goodies and it's not too much gear.
If it were available (it's not) for 37" tires I'd go even...
Well I'll give you an update on mine: So on Procharger's instructions I went home and tried tightening the tensioner a bit......I didn't make it 1/2 a turn and I bent the 3/8" bolt for the tensioner!
A trip to home depot and a new bolt later, I moved the idler from the middle hole to the one...
I just called Procharger and they told me the belt, despite feeling absurdly tight tensioned, is probably just not tight enough and I need to concentrate on tensioning it as per the tension marks on the side and nothing more.
I'm already at the 1st line so I'm going to keep going a bit and...
It doesn't fix it..... I just came across this thread looking for a solution for the same problem. I have the 6% overdrive pulley from ATI. I couldn't fit the belt that came with the kit for the stock pulley at all. I bought a slightly longer belt.....I can't see any way I'm going to get that...
Hey, need some help. This weekend I am going to tackle the procharger install on my Ram.
In the kit, they sent me a belt K061187. Jegs lists this as a 119.31" or 3030mm long belt. This was intended for a stock pulley.
I will instead be running an ATI 6% overdrive pulley. I'm trying to...
can anyone give me an idea what a reasonable # of hours a shop would bill for to install a torque converter in a 2012 Ram 2500 5.7l ?
I was thinking of doing it myself, but without a lift, or transmission lift, depending on what it may cost me I may just pay to have it done.
Hey guys, I'm interested in buying an Amerihood SSK style hood....with the louvers in the hood. I spoke with them and it seems that the louvers drain moisture out to the front, driver's side of the engine bay.
I'll be installing a procharger in my truck so the air cleaner will be fairly open...
Thanks...yes I know those shops are experts on these heads....not going to wait 2-3 weeks for my heads and ship them/deal with customs etc.... just need the heads cleaned, surfaced, performance valve job, MAYBE some minor bowl blending and cleaning up the insides... and put together with all my...
So in a few weeks I'll be tearing into the motor and pulling the heads to do a spring, valves and valvetrain parts upgrade, as part of my cam/procharger install.
Does anyone know a good cylinder head shop in Regina, SK Canada preferably who can do a good performance 3 angle valve job, and...
they look good! should be straightforward.... I've installed a lot of headers, mostly on old musclecars. These were by far the easiest headers that ever went in.
