    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

So, just to update this thread, I decided to pass on the 5th wheel I mentioned. I got my neighbor who works for DOT to weigh my truck with his scales and with a Reese 5th wheel hitch in the bed, a half tank of gas, and maybe a couple hundred pounds of junk in my toolbox, my truck's curb weight...

Amyone use Timbren SES for towing 13k-14k 5er with 2500?

    Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.

Amyone use Timbren SES for towing 13k-14k 5er with 2500?

Thanks. To me it seems like kind of a toss up btwn the Sumos or Timbrens. Cheaper than airbags and easier to install and maintain. Just curious, does your truck have 3.73 or 4.10 gears? I do have a 2" leveling kit on mine and 3.73 rear end.

Amyone use Timbren SES for towing 13k-14k 5er with 2500?

I found some threads on here discussing Timbren or Sumo springs vs airbags, but I didn't see anyone using them with my exact setup. I'm looking to possibly upgrade to a 13k 5er (dry weight) and pull it with my 2021 Laramie 4x4 with the Cummins. I've already hooked up to the camper and pulled...

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

Ok, so I said I would post what my friend who works for DOT said when I talked to him. I'm not here to say any point of view is right or wrong or to try to sway anyone one way or the other. This is just to provide insight from someone from DOT, knowledgeable about the law and towing, for anyone...

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

I didn't realize this was such a hot topic when I posted this thread but after doing some reading I've realized there are basically two schools of thought on this. 1. The payload rating is there for a reason and should adhered to no matter what. Period. It's the law. 2. The payload rating...

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

That's a little lighter than the TT I have now. I bet he can hardly tell it's back there. As far as the ride goes, I can't speak for GM but I've had two F250 diesels and my Ram rides better than either of them. No 3/4 ton truck is going to give you the ride of a 1/2 ton, though.

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

Thanks. That does give me an idea of what the loaded pin weight might be for a big, loaded 5th wheel. The one I'm considering is 12,275 dry weight so I think the loaded weight of the camper and pin weight would be a good bit lower than yours. I know the truck can pull it. I just want to make...

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

Ok. I think the gcwr will be much higher. I think the # I was looking at was just the truck fully loaded without the trailer. Thanks for the advice.

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

The 5th wheel I'm considering is 12,275# dry weight. I know the truck has the power to pull it. I'm mainly concerned with it squatting the rear end and how the truck will handle. A set of air bags would solve that problem but if yours sat level with a 14k 5er then I might not need them. Some...

    5th Wheel Towing With 2500 6.7

I've got a 2021 2500 4x4 Laramie with the 6.7. I use it to tow a roughly 9,000# TT and it pulls it like a champ. My truck has the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package and I've thought about switching to a 5th wheel but payload is what concerns me. The Ram website lists my truck's towing capacity...

    35x12.50r18 Recommendations

I don't put a lot of miles on my truck so the tires still only have 2,500 miles on them. But they are still whisper quiet. Even with the windows down I hardly hear anything at all. They also ride good for an E rated mud tire. It's hard to gauge tread life with the mileage still being so low...

    WeatherTech vs. OEM All-Weather Mats?

I ended up sending an email to Mopar and they confirmed that the tan is only available for the 1500s. Doesn't make any sense at all to me since the tan interior is available in both the 1500 and 2500/3500. I went with the Weathertech mats. They were more expensive but they fit really well and...

Re-center Steering Wheel After Leveling Kit Install

In the videos I've seen online there is a hexagonal adjustment piece in the drag link with a locking nut on each end. I looked under the front end and I didn't see said piece so I'm assuming the draglink must be a little different on the newer trucks. Or did I just overlook it?
