So, if there are no leaks, rad cap is good, has new fluid, thermostat checks out and fan is working right, pretty much leaves the water pump or a plugged rad as the last suspects.
In addition to the solid advice above, check your rad cap, it may not be holding the 14 psi it needs to. That will cause all kinds of issues and is often overlooked.

Yes you need a security bypass cable. The one from Kaodtech works well and installs fairly easily. The MX+ will let you read a whole lot of stuff but if you want to change anything you need the security bypass cable.
