High Long Term Fuel Trim Immediately After Computer Reset

It looks like this is an electrical issue. I noticed today that when I was idling in park, the long term fuel trims were at +15. When I put it in drive, the fuel trims instantly dropped to +8. When I put it back into park, they went back up to +15 again. I also no that the transmission module...

High Long Term Fuel Trim Immediately After Computer Reset

I forgot to say that when I rev the engine to 2000 rpm, the long term trims go to zero and then go back to 15.6 when I go back to idle.

High Long Term Fuel Trim Immediately After Computer Reset

Hello Everyone, I have had high long term fuel trims for months on my 2007 Ram 1500 5.7L. They are both at +15.6. Using a smoke machine today, I found a leak where the EGR valve attaches to the tube that goes to the exhaust. I thought for sure I had found the problem, but after replacing the...

    CAN C Bus Issues

I did some more testing this morning. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and got a normal CAN signal at the DLC. But, after cycling the key off and back on, it went back to an abnormal signal. The top image is the normal signal, and the bottom one is the abnormal signal.

    CAN C Bus Issues

Thanks for the reply. I am going by the 2006 Ram factory service manual. I have attached a page from the manual about bus communication, which does show a CAN C system. I don't have the 2007 factory manual, do you think the 06 manual is compatible with 07?

    CAN C Bus Issues

Hello Everyone, I think I am having CAN C bus problems on my 2007 Ram 1500 15.7L. I recently purchased an Autel ML629 scanner, but it won't communicate with the Transmission as it is supposed to. I checked the CAN network from the DLC in the cab connecting to pins 6 & 14 and ground with my...

I Messed Up My Truck Installing Trans Temp Gauge

Update on my electrical problem. I took it to a shop for diagnosis. It was the crankshaft position sensor and a couple of the wires were melted together. It runs now without any trouble codes. But, it doesn't feel right. it doesn't drive like it used to. It's sluggish, and it is hard to...

I Messed Up My Truck Installing Trans Temp Gauge

The more I think about it the more things I remember about the installation. When I was done installing the gauge, it ran fine and the gauge worked perfectly for a day. Then I checked the transmission fluid and when I closed the hood it stumbled and the engine almost stalled. The next day on...

I Messed Up My Truck Installing Trans Temp Gauge

Yes, I checked all fuses. They're good. I used Cavity 23 engine control module for switched power, and cavity 14 Park Lamps Left for dimming circuit. For constant power I connected directly to battery positive. Now looking at what I did, it looks more and more likely that I damaged the ECU.

I Messed Up My Truck Installing Trans Temp Gauge

Ok, I think I know what happened. I used a bare wire to snake the transmission sensor wires back behind the engine down to the passenger side of the transmission. I forgot to disconnect the battery and the wires were connected to the Max Tow gauge and the gauge was completely hooked up with...

I Messed Up My Truck Installing Trans Temp Gauge

I may have screwed up my 2007 Ram 1500 Hemi. I tried installing a transmission temperature gauge from max Tow. Followed all the instructions using 2 add a circuits for the switched power and light circuit for the gauge dimming. My big mistake was that I forgot to disconnect the negative power...

    2007 Ram 1500 545rfe Trans Cooler Line

Thanks for the reply. I guess the wording wasn't very clear in my post. I meant to say which line takes the hot fluid from the transmission to the cooler, and which one brings the cooled fluid back. Thanks

    2007 Ram 1500 545rfe Trans Cooler Line

Does anybody know which transmission cooler line is the one that goes from the transmission to the cooler? My truck is a 2007 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi Quad Cab 4X4. The attached picture is from Mopar Parts website under Ram 1500 4.7L 5.7L. I want to put a temperature sensor in the hotter one. Thanks

Thank you Roadrambler for the helpful information. It will help me make a decision when I decide to change the diff gears.

    2007 1500 5.7L Differential Gearing

I live in Utah, and encounter very steep climbs here in Utah and Colorado. My travel trailer weighs anywhere from 4500 to 5500 depending on how much is loaded in it. I have the 20" wheels and 3.55 gears. I am thinking about going back to stock tire size of 245/70R/17 next time I need tires...
