    Batteries suddenly fail

Thank you for the response. I think the thing that bothers me the most is that despite the electronic intelligence of this truck, there’s no way for it to let me know when the batteries are weak. I wish I would get a little more notice because tow trucks are expensive.

    Batteries suddenly fail

Thanks. I live in SoCal, so “cold” is 60 degrees.

    Batteries suddenly fail

I'm curious about sudden battery fails in my 2019 2500 HD. One morning in 2022, at 59,000 miles, the truck wouldn't even attempt to crank. Roadside assistance came out, tried to jump start, no luck. Upon arrival by flatbed wrecker at the dealer's, I was told the original equipment batteries were...

    GPS

This thread makes me feel better & not feel better at the same time, LOL My 2019 2500 did an automatic 'software update' recently, and ever since that, the GPS has been s*it. The system CONSISTENTLY guides me to the "shortest" option and not the fastest option. Thus, I have spent a great deal...

    Drive belt replacement?

It seems like this is a recent thing. Before COVID as an example, I was paying around $100 for an oil change at the dealer. Now it's double that. I'd do the oil change myself if I had a way to dispose of all the used oil, and an oil pan big enough to catch it in... and if I had the time... oh well.

    Drive belt replacement?

Thanks for the replies, folks. Here's an update: Dodge wants to charge me $450. Their labor rate is $209/hr. The belt itself (from Geno's Garage) is less than $100. So I called the guy who runs a local heavy truck repair shop and will be doing my brakes before I travel next month. He told me...

    Drive belt replacement?

I haven't seen any posts about this so I'm hoping to get an expert opinion (or two or three)... My 2019 2500 Cummins has 88,000 miles on it and I'm getting ready to pull an RV on a 3,000-mile trip next month. When changing my oil today the mechanic said my drive belt is in need of replacement. I...

If You Like Your Jeep . . . . . . You soon won’t be able to buy one, thanks to California’s EV mandate.

California has the 8th largest economy *in the world.* The marketplace always wins out. I am not losing any sleep over any of the other hand-wringing from people outside of California about how bad the state is or will become.

I'm Balking--Bigtime--Over the Dealerships Price to Replace Filters

The oil and fuel filter jobs are complex and messy, for sure. I haven't done those myself (considering it, though). The cabin air filter is easy, though. I did that myself and saved $90. (Geno's Garage is great, and I really like my locking DEF and fuel caps!)

    Horrible headlights….

Maybe the headlights just need to be adjusted? The headlights on my 2500 seemed really poor right from the get-go. At the same time, on 2-lane roads people were flashing their lights at me at night. I did some inquiry and found that the lights were easy to adjust on my own. Voila! The problem...

Looking to by a warranty contract for used 2021 Ram 2500

I'm going to follow this thread, too. I have 83k on my 2500 and before I know it, 100k will be here. It's my only vehicle and I plan to keep it till I'm too feeble to climb into it or drive it. With all the electronics and such, I don't want to risk something (financially) big happening. (The...

How Difficult Is It To Change The Fuel Filters?

I'm new here - what brought me to the forum was this very issue. Today I paid my dealer $575+ to replace the filters - a job that took less than an hour and $300+ in labor. I was charged $250+ for the filters. Yikes. I am fairly mechanical and have seen some of the YouTube videos so I could...
