1500 Sport 4wd manifold stud replacement sucks!

There's plenty of things that I have done that seemed relatively easy but turned out to be a major pain. So I've finally learned to just let a professional do it.

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

Sounds like a plan! I got a free oil change with the repair work, obviously, so I'll ask when I go in for the next one and maybe see about upgrading it to the "PUP".

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

That part was pretty funny, even for me. And with age comes wisdom right? I had an 09 so I have had some experience with the MDS Hemi's before. So planned ahead and sure enough, the worst came to be. I knew this could be an issue when I bought it, but I did so because I loved it. These trucks...

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

First off, When I read this line I became curious as to what weight the OP was running. Then I realized OP is me... haha As far as your actual question goes, I bought it used so who knows what he ran before. As for me, I've been using whatever the dealership puts in it. When I bought it I...

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

I actually have a CC 4X4 3.21's. Before the tires and warranty work I used to get 19-20 minimum when cruising. So I'll just have to see how it all goes. I'm not too worried about the drop but it would be nice if I could stay around 17 myself with a 33" tire.

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

So I know this thread is kind of old now as it was started back in May, but I wanted to close it out with the final results in case anyone was curious. I picked up my truck last Tuesday and everything seems to be in proper order. There are a few things to note, but I wouldn't classify as issues...

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

What I was told happened with mine is that the lifters were the root cause of the problem. Lifters ate into the cam and then the valves went out as well, although I couldn't hear her very well so I don't know what happened with them. Regardless, we are still waiting for the heads. FCA has...

    Autopark Functionality

Is there a way to disable It? The rental truck I got from enterprise is a 2018 Ram and it has that auto park feature. I accidentally discovered it and after some testing, it feels like the transmission would get damaged. I have no idea how it works, but that jerk can be pretty rough. Sent...

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

Yeah it felt a little odd to me as well. I'm starting to get a little annoyed as they have had my truck for a month come tomorrow since we're waiting for parts (Heads) that are on back order.

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

Well, I suppose you all wished me enough luck. Just heard back from the dealership and it was a bad lifter. Warranty is covering the repair and I'm happy I'll get my truck fixed. I was worried since I bought the truck used, I was unaware of what the previous owner may of had done/not done to...

Thanks for the reply. It does suck but I went ahead and agreed to the teardown. Wish me luck.

Chrysler Warranty - Misfire, Lifters & Cam possible culprit

So I have a question for you guys. I took the truck in for possible warranty work. I have provided the dealer a video of possible lifter tapping, have had 3 separate cylinder 5 misfire codes, and a general lack of power that comes and goes... So from my research it points to it being the Cam &...

    New Houston Member, Howdy guys!

Thank you everyone, glad to be here! So right now I think I just want to level it out and test that out. I do have a more immediate issue that I need addressed. I'm looking to do a complete fluid service which includes Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case and both Front & Rear Axles. So guess...
