I recently got the "hots" for a new truck. Spent a lot of time plotting and researching "year-end" deals before I came to my senses. I realized that I love my 04 1500 SLT Quad 4.7 w/ 211k on it. So I decided to "fix" all the little things that have been bugging me and try to get 2-3 more years...
My 2004 RAM 1500 Quad hit 200k today. Got to take the odometer pic in my own driveway. Still runs and looks great. She uses a little oil, but I won't hold that against her.

Thanks. My mechanic quoted me 970 for replacing both evap & heater cores. 110 heat index in Houston. My old body is telling me let the young men do it. Putting it in the shop tomorrow AM.

Got my OEM fog lights shipped to me this week. Get to install them today. I also picked up some under rail LED bed lights for under the tonneau. I have waited too long to do this!

On mine, the recirculation door had broken off and would slide over the fan, partially blocking the airflow. Take out the fan (3 torx screws) then reach inside the open space, you may find a loose piece of plastic (the recirculation door). You will have to break it if you want to take it out...
For the past 5-6 years on my 2004 1500 Quad Cab 4.7 whenever I would drive in rain or go through a car wash, I would get a couple of hard shifts between 1st & 2nd and then the tranny would throw a code P1794 (which is a speed sensor fault). The tranny is rock solid... No other issues... In dry...
Finally replaced the faulty AC condenser fan... Took about an hour. Having cold AC when you are sitting in bumper to bumper traffic sure makes Houston's heat & humidity a lot more bearable... :)
